Ujjal Mitra‘s full-length Bengali film ‘Sukanya’ is slated to release at the end of June. The film is presented by ‘KP Movies’ and produced by Sameer Mondal. Ahead of the film’s release, the film’s poster and trailer were officially launched on Friday, May 10, at a banquet at the Calcutta International Club. Apart from the crew of the film, industrialist Bobby Chowdhury and Jagannath Gupta were also present.
‘Sukanya’ is a Bengali film based on the story of a girl from a remote village who becomes an IPS with the help of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee‘s Kanyashree scheme. This film is about women power. This film is basically based on the story of the struggle of three women. ‘Sukanya’ is the story of the struggle between a remote village mother, her daughter and a political leader who wants to educate and establish her daughter.Â
Shravanti Mondal has written the story of ‘Sukanya’. Screenplay is written by director Ujjal Mitra. Edited by Arunabha Mitra. Music directed by S Goswami. Kaninika Banerjee, Kharaj Mukhopadhyay, Dr Shantanu Sen, Sanjeev Sarkar, Pushpita Mukhopadhyay, Varun Chakraborty, Poonam Dutta and Shreya Ghosh acted in various roles.
