On National Technology Day, BM Birla Heart Hospital Spearheads a Digital First Initiative, Unveils ‘Enhanced Cardiac Care’ Program with Dozee

Dozee, a 'Made-in-India' technology, ensures continuous patient vitals monitoring outside the ICU, identifying clinical deterioration early for enhanced patient safety

Kolkata : In commemoration of National Technology Day, BM Birla Heart Hospital, India’s first NABH-accredited hospital renowned for its excellence in cardiac care, has embraced technology with a ‘digital first’ initiative ‘Enhanced Cardiac Care’ Program. This initiative marks a significant step towards preventive and proactive care by integrating Dozee’s AI-based Contactless Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) and Early Warning System (EWS) into all ward beds; the hospital moves beyond reactive measures, focusing on continuous monitoring to identify and address clinical deterioration early. This strategic move underscores the hospital’s commitment to leveraging data-driven technology to enhance patient safety and outcomes, transitioning towards a healthcare ecosystem that prioritizes preventive and proactive care over-reactive responses alone.

The ‘Enhanced Cardiac Care’ Program is a testament to BM Birla Heart Hospital’s commitment to providing the highest quality cardiac care through the seamless integration of Dozee and medical expertise. Dozee enables healthcare workers to remotely monitor patients’ vital parameters such as heart rate, respiration rate, blood pressure, SPO2 levels, temperature, and ECG. Dozee’s Early Warning System (EWS) tracks the trends of vital parameters and provides alerts to healthcare providers for early detection of patients’ clinical deterioration, enabling timely medical intervention. Dozee uses AI-based Ballistocardiography (BCG) for contactless vitals monitoring. Dozee’s technology is patented and made in India. Dozee’s innovative technology significantly impacts patient safety, clinical outcomes, and operational efficiency. Research done by independent consulting firm Sattva shows that for every 100 Dozee-connected beds, it can save 144 lives and 80% of the time taken for vitals by nurses and reduce ICU ALOS by 1.3 days.

Dr. Anjan Siotia, Director of the Cardiology Department, BM Birla Heart Hospital, Kolkata, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, ‘At BM Birla Heart Hospital, our mission has always been to provide world-class cardiac care with a patient-centric approach.
