‘G.O.A.T – Greatest On A Track’: Škoda Auto India puts its performance DNA in motion

Kolkata, May 21, 2026 : Amidst its rapid product actions and continuous network expansion, Škoda Auto India has launched its newest campaign anchoring Škoda’s performance story. The campaign launches with a record, which is one of multiple initiatives that establish that the ‘Greatest On A Track’ is a ‘Škoda On A Track’.

With its 130-year global heritage and 125 years in motorsport, Škoda Auto furthers its racing legacy with this benchmark-setting brand narrative. The brand also celebrates more than half a century of the RS (Rally Sport) badge in its cars. Furthering its key strategy pillar of Differentiation, this new campaign highlights the dynamic capabilities and safety of the Škoda Auto India range.

Speaking on the campaign, Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Škoda Auto India, said, “Every Škoda is engineered to deliver precision, control, and dynamism at the very edge of performance. For us, motorsport DNA isn’t a halo; it is inherent, and it comes standard across our entire range. This belief anchors our newest campaign, where we redefine ‘Greatest On A Track’ to mean, quite simply, a Škoda on a track. This campaign is a natural extension of our strategy of democratizing performance, ensuring that every Škoda, across segments, offers uncompromising dynamic capability, safety, and confidence that translates seamlessly into the real world. At its core, G.O.A.T celebrates the intangibles that truly define the Škoda driving experience: steering precision, chassis balance, braking assurance, and the deep connection between driver and machine. These are qualities that will never be captured on a spec sheet but are unmistakable the moment you get behind the wheel.”

The record to kick-start the G.O.A.T campaign

Under the supervision of the India Book of Records and the Asia Book of Records, the brand set a record for clocking the ‘Fastest Multi-Car Relay of a Single Manufacturer on a Circuit’. The record was set at the Coimbatore Automotive Sports and Technical Training (CoASTT) track, where Škoda Auto India’s fleet of five cars set a time of 12:30:97. This makes Škoda Auto India the country’s fastest fleet in total time, including the time for pit-lane changeovers.

The Škoda Auto India fleet – consisting of the Kylaq 1.0 AT, Kushaq 1.5 DSG, Slavia 1.5 DSG, Octavia RS and the Kodiaq Selection L&K – was driven consecutively by five drivers in a single, uninterrupted timed relay, with pit-lane change overs and set a total time of 12:30.97. With the relay format of the record, it was crucial that every Škoda in the fleet was up to the mark at the limit to ensure quick times for the fleet.

The sub-4 m Kylaq clocked in 2:31.6, while the Kushaq SUV and Slavia sedan recorded 2:29.7 and 2:27.63, respectively. The Kodiaq Selection L&K, with its uncompromising luxury, seven seats and 4×4 abilities, lapped the CoASTT circuit in 2:26.34, and Škoda Auto’s iconic sports sedan, the Octavia RS, topped the charts with 2:10.85 at the 3.8km long circuit.

The fleet proved its dynamism on the track, and its agility, manoeuvrability, braking ability and such dynamic aspects that finally translate to better control and safety on the road for Škoda Auto India customers. Combined with the five-star safety ratings across the product portfolio in various tests in India and globally, this record establishes Škoda Auto India as having the fastest and safest fleet in the country.

Škoda Auto’s motorsport DNA

Motorsport has been integral to Škoda Auto’s DNA since 1901. This gained further inroads in 1975 with the first RS badge making its announcement with the Škoda 130 RS. This car mirrored Škoda’s Rally Sport heritage from the first half of the 20th century. It is this illustrious motorsport pedigree that is reflected across the brand’s Indian portfolio, where turbo-charged engines, true automatic transmissions, sharp handling and engaging dynamics define the driving experience. From the Kylaq sub-4m SUV to the Slavia sedan, the Kushaq mid-size SUV, the Kodiaq luxury 4×4 and the limited-volume Octavia RS, Škoda Auto India delivers performance-driven engineering across segments.

It is this performance-led DNA across its product lineup that enabled Škoda Auto India to set the record with its fleet of dynamically capable vehicles and also forms the core for the newest brand campaign, establishing that the ‘Greatest On A Track is a Škoda On A Track’.
