Kolkata, January 25, 2026: Like every year, a Blood Donation Festival was organized at the Netaji Indoor Stadium in Kolkata to mark the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. This Blood Donation Festival was organized by Babun Banerjee, Secretary of the ‘Kalighat Sports Lovers Association’.
Around 2,500 people from different parts of West Bengal donated blood this time too. Like every time, along with men, women also came to donate blood enthusiastically. Eminent figures from various fields were present to formally encourage blood donors.
Teenagers performed a dance with great joy on the occasion of the blood donation festival. Chief organizer Babun Banerjee expressed his joy at seeing the enthusiasm of so many people on the occasion of the blood donation festival.
This blood donation festival started in 1998. In the initial phase of the blood donation festival, only 504 people donated blood, but that number has now increased to over 2,500.
