In addition to biological food, human beings also need ‘spiritual food’ for sustaining life. This is the idea of saints. Mahaprabhu Sri Chaitanyadev through his Gaudiya Vaishnavism preaching not only wanted to spread the love and devotion, but through that spirituality he wanted to benefit the people of the world.
Bhakti Siddhant Saraswati Prabhupada also once wanted to propagate Mahaprabhu‘s ideology. The name of the Lord is sought to be propagated by presenting and serving Gaudiya Vaishnavisms in a new form among the dear people. Books like Gaudiya, Nadia Prakash, SajjanToshoni bear his identity.
In the 19th century, various articles on Gaudiya were published in various papers and magazines. Devotee life and various festivals held at Gaudiya mathas and Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Prabhupada‘s conversations with various sages are also sought to be conveyed to the common people.
With an aim to highlight the greatness of Gaudiya Vaishnavism and bring Gaudiya saint’s biography and message to the modern people, Bagbazar Gaudiya Math has launched an audio book called ‘Jivatu’. Jivatu means sustenance or provision of life. Saints believe that by listening to this audio book, the living being will get its ‘spiritual food’ or sustenance of life.
Not only this, the main objective is to bring the words and activities of Mahaprabhu Sri Chaitanya Dev to the diasporas Bengali speaking people of the world in audio form. Some simplification of the language is served without distorting the original text, keeping in mind the modern audience.
Srimat Bhakti Sundar Sannyasi Maharaj, Acharyaand President of Gaudiya Math, officially inaugurated this ‘Jivatu’ audio book in a joint initiative of Gaudiya Math and ‘Bhaktivedanta Research Center’ on Monday. He said, through ‘Jivatu’, the biographies of Gaudiya saints and Prabhupada, Gaudiya Vaishnava dharma activities and Gaudiya philosophies can be conveyed to the few Bengali-speaking or Bengali-knowing people. People can listen to it even in their busy schedule.
‘Bhaktivedanta Research Center’ has been researching various aspects of Gaudiya Vaishnava religion, Gaudiya Vaishnava literature, Puranas and Mahaprabhu’s life and activities for a long time. Dean of ‘Research Center’ Dr Sumanta Rudra said, ‘International Mother Language Day is coming. Keeping that in mind, this effort has been taken to convey the Gaudiya ideology in Bengali language to the people of the country and abroad beyond the boundaries of the state.’
