West Bengal : LTIMindtree, [NSE: LTIM, BSE: 540005], a global technology consulting and digital solutions company, partnered with the reputed Civil Society organization across India to implement the Integrated Village Development Programme (IVDP) model in 16 aspirational blocks of the country. IVDP focuses on creating a positive impact in the blocks identified by Niti Aayog, and Balarampur is one of them due to its tribal population and specific developmental needs. Through IVDP interventions, LTIMindtree aims to uplift the local community through sustainable development and targeted interventions as part of LTIMindtree’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts.
LTIMindtree has partnered with EAGL Livelihood Foundation to implement this comprehensive programme, which encompasses various initiatives aimed at enhancing education, health, and livelihood opportunities for the residents.
As part of this initiative, Anganwadi Centres in the region were renovated, STEM lab was set up in two high Schools and free Coaching Centres were set up for the students appearing for the board examination. These projects were inaugurated by LTIMindtree’s Paneesh Rao, Chief Sustainability Officer along with the unveiling of a solar-operated signal system designed to reduce accident incidences in the block.
Sharing his thoughts, Paneesh Rao, Chief Sustainability Officer, LTIMindtree said, ‘The launch of the Integrated Village Development Programme in Balarampur reflects LTIMindtree’s commitment to fostering sustainable growth and improving the quality of life in rural communities. By collaborating with local organizations and focusing on education, health, and infrastructure, we aim to empower the residents of Balarampur and create lasting change.’
Key highlights of the IVDP in Balarampur include:
- Revitalization of Anganwadi Centres: Five Anganwadi Centres in different gram panchayats have been transformed into model facilities that will provide essential services to lactating mothers and children up to six years old. These centres are equipped with educational tools, infographics and play equipment to promote a learn-and-play environment.
- School Renovations: Five local schools are undergoing renovations to improve their infrastructure and learning conditions, with plans for further development into model schools in the future.
- Coaching Centres: Two free coaching centres have been established at BaraUrma High School and Chanditala High School in the region to support students preparing for board examinations, aiming to enhance academic performance and helping them secure 60% and above marks in board exam.
- Water resources for Agriculture: LTIMindtree is creating provisions for 22,500 cubic meters storage capacity of farm ponds to assist local farmers with irrigation, thereby improving agricultural productivity of approx. 450 acres of land.
