While talking to the media at the Kolkata Press Club, President of ‘Bangiyo Pradeshik Hindu Mahasabha’ Shambhunath Ganguly made it clear that some unorganized political organizations have come down to beg for votes in the name of Hindu Mahasabha to tarnish the ‘Bangiyo Pradeshik Hindu Mahasabha’. We have no connection with those organizations.’
‘Bangiyo Pradeshik Hindu Mahasabha’s Secretary Anant Singh Roy said that ‘these fake organizations are soliciting votes from the voters of the state with the aim of cutting the votes of the ‘Bharatiya Janata Party’ (BJP). We make it clear that no matter how much they beg for votes in the name of ‘Hindu Mahasabha’, they are not part of the original ‘Hindu Mahasabha’.
Sandeep Mukhopadhyay, one of the executive members of the organization, agreed with the words of the president and secretary of the ‘Bangiyo Pradeshik Hindu Mahasabha’ and said, ‘After Gandhi’s assassination, the ‘Bangiyo Pradeshik Hindu Mahasabha’ office of the ‘Hindu Mahasabha’ has weakened on the one hand and on the other hand, there is something with the ‘Bharatiya Janata Party’. Despite fundamental policy differences, we declare in unequivocal terms that we will unconditionally support all the Lok Sabha constituencies that ‘Bharatiya Janata Party’ will field in West Bengal in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.’
