KOLKATA : ‘Samarpally Sarbojonin Durgotsab’ of Krishnapur (Keshtapur) area of Kolkata was inaugurated yesterday evening. Anupam Halder, Joint Commissioner, Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, Government of West Bengal, was present at the launch.
Municipal Representative (Ward No. 25 of Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation) Purnima Naskar and singer Rakhi Dutta were also present at the inauguration ceremony.
On behalf of the puja committee, Anilkumar Das said, ‘ This year, ‘Samarpally Sarbojonin Durgotsab’ entered its 29th year.’
Puja committee has also given a felicitation to the students of the area who have passed the secondary and higher secondary examinations this year.
Secretary of the ‘Samarpally Sarbojonin Durgotsab Committee’, Professor Pradeep Dey told the media, ‘We may not be able to spend a lot of money to organize the Puja but we give priority to humanity and try to make everyone happy by celebrating this festival.’
