Kolkata : Durga Puja is celebrated with great fanfare in the homes of Bangladesh. But after coming to this country, Sanjeev Poddar does not get the opportunity to participate in Durga Puja every year. So he wanted to organize Jagaddhatri Puja at his home in Kolkata. So decided to organize Jagaddhatri Puja. From that idea, fifteen years ago, Jagaddhatri Puja was started near Durga House along the Eastern Metropolitan Bypass in Kolkata.
This year also Sanjeev organized Jagaddhatri Puja with great grandeur. This time the idol is not the conventional form of Jagaddhatri. The form of the mother idol has been given according to Sanjeev's ideas. Devadidev Mahadev is with mother Jagaddhatri. Mother has no weapon. They are placed at the mother's feet. Kumari Puja was also organized this time. A four-and-a-half-year-old girl was worshiped as 'Kalika'. Food was arranged for the visitors. Sanjeev's wife Shilpi Poddar said, 'Earlier, clothes were distributed to poor people on the day of Puja. For several years after Jagaddhatri Puja, clothes were distributed by going to Tarapeeth or Santiniketan. This time we will give food and clothes to a thousand people.'
Anupam Halder, joint commissioner of revenue department of the state government and photographer, was present as a guest in this Puja celebration. Another joint commissioner of the revenue department, Panchali Munshi, was with him.
Anupam Halder said, ‘Not only the worship of clay idols, we should also respect women properly. May I help the poor people.’
