Hotel Manish is probably the first hotel in West Bengal to celebrate Rabindra Jayanti for the first time.
‘Rabindra Jayanti Utsav’ was organized at ‘Hotel Manish’ under the initiative and management of ‘Life Orchestra Cultural Society’.
Badal Sarkar, head of ‘Life Orchestra Cultural Society’ and director of the event, started the evening program. Hotel manager Avinash Singh said, ‘Rabindranath is in the heart of Bengalis. Every year we want to celebrate Rabindra Jayanti.’
Last night’s event was excellent in dance and music. At the beginning of the program, Amit Chakraborty performed the Rabindra Sangeet ‘Aguner Parasmani Chhonwao Prane’ and ‘Charan Dhari Diyo Go Amare’, followed at various times by Soma Das, ‘Ektuku Chhonwya Lage’, Aditya Bhowmik performed ‘Amar Parano Jaha Chai’ and ‘Tumi Rabe Nirobe’. Neha performed ‘Purano Sei Diner Katha’ and Anand Chakraborty sang ‘Ei Monihar Amay Nahi Saje’. Debanjana Roy performed the songs ‘Sakhi Bhavana Kahare Bole’ and ‘Chokher Aloye’.
Along with Rabindra Sangeet, Deepanwita Saha, Samita Sinha and Ishita performed dances at the event. Sujatha Bhattacharya was the moderator of the whole program.
