Kolkata, March 13, 2026 : The Federation of Associations of Small Industries of India (FASII) will organize a special Women’s Day Celebration in Kolkata on 15th March 2026 at 11:00 AM, bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, and entrepreneurs to celebrate the achievements and empowerment of women across diverse sectors.
The event will feature a National Seminar on “Women Entrepreneurs in Micro & Small Enterprises Sector – Opportunities & Challenges”, along with a felicitation ceremony honouring women who have excelled in different professional fields. The programme aims to highlight the growing role of women in entrepreneurship and encourage meaningful dialogue between government representatives and women entrepreneurs.

Observed globally every year on International Women’s Day on March 8, the occasion celebrates the remarkable contributions of women in fields such as entrepreneurship, innovation, technology, education, healthcare, economics, politics, engineering, space exploration, creative arts, and defence. The FASII event seeks to recognise these achievements while raising awareness about the need for continued empowerment and equal opportunities for women. This event is supported by Ganesh Complex, Hindcon Chemicals, MSME Club, and Teamology.
Few eminent entrepreneurs from Kolkata were felicitated too during the Press Conference amongst them important were Ashok Bajoria of Ganesh Complex who is developing industrial parks of world standard in Panchala, Ranihati and Uluberia, Sanjay Goenka of Hindcon Chemicals, Girdhari Lal Goenka of GAMCO, Pradeep Luhariwala of Sigma, Dr. Ajit Kumar Jain of Medra Finvest.

The seminar is expected to foster insightful discussions between Union and State Government officials and women entrepreneurs from the micro and small enterprise sector. Government representatives will share perspectives on existing policies and schemes, while entrepreneurs will discuss their needs, challenges, and opportunities in the evolving business ecosystem.
Founded in 1959 under the sponsorship of the Government of India and at the initiative of Jawaharlal Nehru, FASII serves as the apex body representing micro, small, village, cottage, and rural enterprises across the country. The federation’s building was inaugurated in 1963 by Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, reflecting its longstanding role in supporting small-scale industries. With its extensive membership network, FASII continues to play an important role in representing the interests of small enterprises at both Union and State Government committees.
The programme will be attended by several distinguished dignitaries including Susmita Mukherjee, Mou Sen, P. K. Das, Anupam Gayen, representatives from UCO Bank and SIDBI, along with prominent social and industry leaders such as Dr. Sankar Sanyal, Asit Chatterjee, Amitava Dutta and some prominent entrepreneur
As part of the celebrations, 12 successful women will be felicitated with mementos, certificates, and shawls, while 15 sewing machines will be distributed to support livelihood initiatives. Additionally, 10 individuals will receive appreciation awards for their contributions to community development.
Through this initiative, FASII aims to honour women achievers, promote entrepreneurship among women, and strengthen collaboration between government institutions and small-scale entrepreneurs for inclusive economic growth.
