Asian Institute Of Immunology And Rheumatology (AIIR) To Start Its Operations In Kolkata

The First Dedicated Institute Of Eastern India For Treating Rheumatic & Auto Immune Patients

A group of city-based Doctors have joined hands to come up with the Asian Institute of Immunology and Rheumatology Centre (AIIR), Eastern India’s first dedicated centre for comprehensive treatment of immunology and rheumatology related ailments. Over a media briefing, Prof. (Dr) Sukumar Mukherjee, Ex-HOD Medicine, Medical College, Kolkata, Dr Somnath Chatterjee, Director, Suraksha Diagnostics Pvt Ltd, Dr Parthajit Das, Director, AIIR & Dr Arghya Chattopadhyay, Director, Academic, AIIR announced this unique initiative. The institute will be inaugurated on the first week of May, 2024.

This pioneering initiative is supported by Suraksha Diagnostics Pvt Ltd, a distinguished healthcare brand in Eastern India. Suraksha Diagnostics has played a pivotal role in providing both financial and administrative support, thus facilitating the realisation of this transformative project. Autoimmune diseases affect a significant portion of the global population, with an estimated 4% worldwide and potentially reaching up to 8% in the United States. However, awareness and specialized care remain lacking in many parts of the world, including India.
