Kolkata, 24 August 2026: On its 11th Anniversary Day, Bandhan Bank marked a major milestone in its growth journey with the launch of its 2,000th branch in Egmore (Chennai, Tamil Nadu), further strengthening its presence across the country. With this addition, the Bank’s total banking outlets across India touches 6,400, reinforcing its commitment to serving customers across urban, semi-urban and rural India and deepening financial access at the grassroots level.
The Bank also unveiled mBandhan Lite, a simplified mobile banking application designed dedicatedly for microfinance customers, to make digital banking accessible, intuitive and inclusive. The app offers Aadhaar-based onboarding, account tracking, loan repayment facilities, access to statements and certificates, chatbot assistance, and multilingual support in English, Hindi and Bengali, enabling a seamless banking experience for customers.
The twin milestones underscore Bandhan Bank‘s strategy of expanding both its physical and digital footprint to meet the evolving needs of the customers. While the 2,000th branch reflects the Bank’s continued expansion of branch network, mBandhan Lite makes digital banking services simpler and more accessible.
